A recent Hubble project requiring 600 Earth orbits and 1000 observational man hours has confirmed that the Universe is indeed expanding and expanding at an accelerated rate.
European scientists from the Leiden Observatory and the University of British Columbia studied over 400,000 galaxies in the hopes to better understand cosmic expansion. The model that had been in use until recently was constructed using only 2d information. With the new Hubble observations and additional ground based telescopic data has allowed for an extremely accurate model to be constructed.
The scale of this study enables an independent confirmation that the expansion of the Universe is accelerated by an additional component that researchers have labeled dark energy, which up to this point has been all but impossible to study let alone quantify.
The results of the study will be published in an upcoming issue of Astronomy and Astrophysics.

Very very simple. The sun is emitting more energy. Photonic waves have increased.
My question is, is this normal cyclical behavior, or prelude to
nova?
Yeah, I forgot that our sun was that big. ;-)
Sol is huge in comparison to the planets, but it still is only a g2 yellow star right at the brink of dwarf. There just isn't enough mass there TO nova. At the end of main sequence it will go into a red giant (in a relative kind of way) which means once its done fusing iron it will collapse to what....maybe a white dwarf about the size of the Earth. Bu then it will miser what little energy remains. It could well stay in this state until the rest of the universe fades into the distance....
Well, it was a joke **chuckling while thinking of all of those galaxies somehow effected by our sun's photonic waves**, but Dark Energy is incredibly interesting!
I wonder if it's energy that has just not yet expressed into mass. I know, e=mc squared, but could there be infinite potential? Infinite potential would express as mass as its file is unzipped if you will.
Just a thought.
I know Pat, I have a hard enough time wrapping my head around dark matter...which really is as simple as it gets and then to take the step into an energy form that can not be registered or quantified....Jesus it gives me a head ache just thinking about it. My comments were aimed more at ANON and that crew that you say Sol and they say NOVA and it starts to become clear who was sleeping during high school science class..lol
